- Thaipusam festival on 11th - A fascinating Penang event and festivals for
Hindu which includes a parade of purification and cleansing ritual. The parade starts from Chettier Temple, Penang Street to Waterfall Temple.
MARCH
- Chap Goh Mei, also known as Chinese Valentine’s day celebrated on the 15th
day of Chinese lunar new year at 4th of March to mark the end of the festival. There will be customary orange throwing events at the Esplanade (Padang Kota Lama). Chinese girl would throw oranges into the sea scooped by boys as a gesture of hope to wed good husbands.
- F1 Roadshow, 9th to 11th March at Highway Auto City - In conjunction with

- Thinyang & Songkran Festival at Burmese Temple & Thai Temple. Thais arms
with water sprays, hoses and buckets give each other good water dousing which signifies blessing. A Thais New Year celebrated here as part of Penang event and festivals.
- 11th International Salon Gastronomy - Battle of the Chefs. From 17th to

- Vasakhi, 21 April - Open house and Sikh expo at the Esplanade (Padang Kota

- International Arts Festivals, 1st to 30th April at Dewan Sri Gallery - An

- Penang International Flora Festival , 27/5 to 3/6 at Penang Botanical
Gardens. Participant from overseas, government agencies, private sectors and local councils participate in this annual Penang event and festivals that showcases the beauty & awe-inspiring parade of flora. Workshop, contest and classes related to botanic are held.
- Wesak Day at Malaysia Buddhist Association (Jalan Burmah) on 1st May -
Devotees throngs the temples and a grand parade is staged to celebrate the birthday of Buddha.

- Annual Horse Show, 31/5 to 3/6 at Penang Turf Club. A carnival with an

- Penang Bridge Run, Sunday 24th June - Annual Penang event and festivals

traditional Japanese festival with dance and drum performances held to welcome the homecoming of ancestral spirit. - Chingay Procession at Padang Kota Lama. A parade of giant flags, lion and
